Cinnamon Leaf (organic)
Latin Name:Cinnamomum zeylanicum
Country:Sri Lanka
Method:steam distilled
Description: Unlike its sibling, Cinnamon Leaf has a softer, 'warmer', more leafy and herbal note than Cinnamon Bark. I also find it's not as 'invasive' towards our sense of smell.

Cinnamon Leaf shares many properties with Cinnamon Bark, but has the added benefit that it may be used on the skin. That being said, Cinnamon Leaf has quite a few additional benefits. When used topically, it can be effective against head lice, scabies, warts, gout pain, respiratory infections, acute bronchitis, and rough coughs. It has also been used to deal with sluggish digestion, and stimulating childbirth contractions.

Mentally & energetically, Cinnamon Leaf and Cinnamon Bark are virtually identical. The only key difference being, is that Cinnamon Leaf is considered to be able to stir creativity, while stimulating psychic 'digestion'.

Contraindications: Avoid during pregnancy, and do not use on small children. Unlike Cinnamon Bark, Cinnamon Leaf is considered safe for use on the skin. However, heavy dilution is strongly recommended, as it may still act as a strong irritant.
