|Latin Name:||Eucalyptus citriodora|
Description: Eucalyptus Citriodora (or more commonly known as Lemon Eucalyptus), has a fresh, light, soft lemony scent, that's somewhat reminiscent of Citronella. Truth be told, many consider this Eucalyptus much more appealing than Citronella itself!
Naturally, this essential oil is highly effective in deterring insects (specifically mosquitoes), but it has quite a few other uses as well. It's an excellent choice for addressing fungal infections (such as athletes foot), minor cuts, sores and wounds, dandruff, and cold sores. It is soothing to those dealing with asthma, laryngitis, and general sore throats, eases muscular and joint pains, injuries, and sprains, and helps to combat colds, fever, and some infectious skin conditions.
Lemon Eucalyptus has a general soothing/calming effect on the mind, though specifics are often not listed. On the energetic level, it's typically used for "clearing" practices, including room cleansing, removal of energy blockages & negativity energies, and the releasing of deeply rooted grief. It's also a wonderful additive to healing and purification blends.
Contraindications: None for normal dosage.
