Rosemary ct Verbenone (wildcrafted)
Latin Name:Rosmarinus officinalis
Country:Italy
Method:steam distilled
Status:wild

Description: Few herbs are as universally grown as rosemary, though the term, ‘ros marinus’ is of latin descent; which beautifully translates to ‘dew of the sea’. The evergreen shrub traditionally grows on top of cliffs surrounding the sea in the Mediterranean. This herb was sacred to the Greeks and Romans long ago , being symbolic of loyalty, scholarly learning, death and remembrance. In flower lore one will find rosemary to have meaning in remembrance as well. This is most likely due to the herb’s ability to improve memory itself.

Rosemary Verbenone will uplift and enliven the senses. The fresh, strong, camphoraceous and resinous nature of its aroma will act as a stimulant; improving the memory, help dissipate mental fatigue, restore your mind and act as an antidepressant. Just inhaling the oil will clear your senses and give you any needed sense of self confidence, aid you in a troubled decision or clear a feeling of being overburdened.

Therapeutically, rosemary verbenone possesses benefits for the respiratory system alongside mucolytic, expectorant, antispasmodic, cell regenerating, nervous system regulating and digestion promoting (ie. over indulgences and hangovers) properties. This essential oil is also beautiful for the skin and hair as it stimulates the scalp to help alleviate dandruff and encourages hair growth. The oil is also a strong astringent (helps sagging skin), eases congestion, puffiness and swellings.

Contraindications: Avoid use for epileptics as the oil can induce a seizure. Avoid in pregnancy, on babies and young children. Avoid use on those with hypersensitive livers. This oil is Neurotoxic (abortifacient) if taken internally. Rosemary Verbenone is distinct from our cineol in it’s aroma and therapeutic nature. One must always be aware of the chemotype as each one will have different properties.
